AquABA: water safety for children and their parents
AquABA is our new, revolutionary program to teach children with autism and other developmental disabilities and their parents water safety skills and how to swim using the methods and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). At the same time, our therapists will work individually with the children and their parents to teach basic life skills that will also prove to be very valuable at home and in the community. This program is fun for all involved, children, parents / caregivers and therapists.
- Location: Jim and Heather Gills YMCA, St. Petersburg
- Individualized instruction by ABA therapists certified as YMCA swim instructors
- Program supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analysts
- Medicaid or private health insurance may cover the costs (scholarships may be available)
